Register read October 2, 2026
This is the South Carolina page of the finder: what the U.S. government’s NPI register (NPPES) lists across the 19 cities we cover: 80 plastic surgeons (each with a profile carrying the register record) and 43 registered plastic surgery practices. It also carries the two state-level facts that matter before you call anyone: what South Carolina Medicaid pays, and where to verify a license.

Does South Carolina Medicaid cover body contouring?
No cosmetic benefit. South Carolina Medicaid does not cover cosmetic surgery, liposuction or a tummy tuck, and never covers breast augmentation. It can cover a medically necessary breast reduction or panniculectomy with prior authorization, which the surgeon requests and the state's review contractor or the member's managed care plan decides against InterQual criteria, and breast reconstruction after a mastectomy for cancer or an accidental injury.
What insurance and Medicaid cover carries the rule, the criteria and the sources.
Verify a South Carolina license
An NPI record is not proof of an active license. CMS says so itself. Every profile on this site links the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners' public license lookup (SC LLR), and you can verify any South Carolina dental license there in about a minute. If what you find disagrees with a listing here, tell us.
How this list works
Everything on this page comes from one source: the federal NPI register (NPPES), read on October 2, 2026. It lists every provider in South Carolina whose register address matches, alphabetically. No one can pay to be added, removed or reordered, and there are no ratings or reviews here, because we have not called or visited these practices.
Three caveats the register itself requires: an NPI number is not proof of an active license (verify one at the SC LLR license lookup), addresses are self-reported and can be stale, and a listing says nothing about quality. If you are listed here and something is wrong, tell us and we will correct or remove the entry against the register.
Before you call anyone
How to check a plastic surgeon
Board certification, the license lookup and facility accreditation: the three checks before a consultation.
Liposuction cost
The plastic surgeons’ national fee, all-in prices by area treated, and what the quote leaves out.
Tummy tuck cost
Full, mini and extended tummy tucks, what each price includes, and when liposuction is the alternative.
What insurance and Medicaid cover
Reconstructive versus cosmetic, insurer criteria, the mastectomy reconstruction law and South Carolina Medicaid.
